Scheduling Issue - Possible Remedy

For those who did not see the thread from a couple days ago, Cincinnati discovered an error.  The error basically caused part of the schedule to repeat so we play some teams twice and some not at all.  This made some teams have harder schedules than other teams (i.e play top teams twice and not face bottom of the standings team at all).  This was not intentional, but it has complicated an already messy season due to covid-19.

I would like to see what people think of the following idea as an attempt to address the problem knowing that there is not a perfect solution:

End the regular season one week early and use that week to add an extra round to the playoffs giving 8 teams playoff berths instead of the 4 we contracted to due to length of season issues. 

The intent with this would be to give some teams that were unfairly impacted by scheduling to compete in the playoffs. 

That being said no solution is perfect. Please feel free to post your thoughts positively or negatively on this thread.

I am sorry for not noticing the issue with the schedule.  I hope that we will be back to a more normal baseball season in 2021. This is a fun league and overall we have all as a league done a great job of sticking together this season.

After more than 60 hours and no comments, I appear to have misjudged the issue.  There seems to be little interest in making a change to the original plan.  I withdraw my idea and recommend that we just stay the course.  I am sorry the schedule had an error in it.  Let's make the best of a difficult season and look forward to 2021.
