There have been a number of illegal bids today so I want to clear some things up.  Here are the bidding rules we posted last offseason.  Please notice in particular that you can only increase bids by a max $1 mil at a time. I understand that some people might like to see that changed, but that would require a league vote in the offseason:

A few quick reminders:

- You may only have 5 high bids at one time.  Player nominations count as a high bid.
- A high bid must stand for 24 hours to win a player auction
- An owner has 24 hours to decide to match a player that has been won
- You can only match 2 of your 3 restricted free agents.
- You may bid on your restricted free agents, although a word of advice would be to not do this unless you really want the 3rd player after you have matched your 2
- Minimum starting auction bid is 300K and maximum is 1.0 million
- Minimum increase in an auction is 100k and maximum is 1.0 million

- Contracts 10 million and over require at least a 2 year deal
- Minimum contract length is 1 year (9.9 mil and under) and maximum is 5 years.
- Maximum contract bid is 20 million.  If multiple players bidding 20 million, the contract will be rewarded based on waiver priority.
- Free-Agents signed during the offseason signing period are ineligible to be traded prior to June 1.

**IF one of your own "matching" free-agents HAS NOT been introduced and you wish to match him, you may introduce the player before round 2 begins.  If nobody else bids you will win the player outright.  If you are outbid then you can match the player.  If you don't nominate your player prior to the start of round 2, and he isn't nominated by another team, then the player will become an unrestricted free agent and become available to be bid on again in his positional round.
