DC Wiffleballers

I screwed up big time and I apologize.  It was brought to my attention last night by Scott (which I appreciate) that I was in error when I closed down the Soler auction.  The rules say:

"International Signings: Starting in 2013 all international signings that are signed to MLB contracts and placed on the MLB teams 40 man roster before free agency (or their round of free agency starts) will available to be bid on in free agency.

If these types of players sign after free agency they will be available to pick in MLFAD.

If they sign after both MLFAD and free agency in that year they will be off limits until the following years free agency."

It is clear that I should have allowed the bid on Soler and a few others to continue.  So what does this mean?

1.Soler and company are eligible to be bid on immediately since he was obviously signed to a 40 man roster prior to free agency.

2.I fear that some people may have wished they spent their money differently had they known that Soler and others were available.  So if any auction has closed and the winner is unhappy we can restart the auction.  If you wish to do this I need to know immediately.  Likewise, if you are high bidder on an auction that closes in the next 24 hours and you want out of it we can restart the auction.  I would need to know immediately. Immediately means no later than 24 hours, but preferably much sooner.  I don't anticipate this affecting many auctions.

3.If a closed auction gets restarted under #2, but the ending price is over $1 mil, the previous owner is guaranteed no worse of a comp pick then they have already acquired.

I am sorry for the inconvenience my error has caused.

I just want to add that this isn't all Jim's fault.

I want to take some blame here as I was in charge of going over every nook and cranny of the constitution, sort of like a proxy to make sure everything was sound.

This one got past me. So hit me first.

My bad for being the first to question Soler's bid. I should have checked the rules.
