Heads Up - Site Updates

Just a FYI, I will be working on some changes to the site over the next month.  I am currently in the process of moving the domain registrar for paintingtheblack.com.  This should not be a big deal but I mention it because the transfer is in process and if you come to the site and it's down for some reason that is the most likely reason.  Any outage should only be very short (I'm told 15 to 30 minutes at most when it transfers) so you will likely not experience an issue but I wanted to let you know of this just in case you come to the site when this transfer is happening.

Also, I am researching upgrading the forum software to the newest code.  We are on an older version and it would be nice to get on the newest release.  If I decide to do this I'll let you know when so you're aware at that point there could be some downtime.  One big reason for this is to fix the issue where some people have their posts cut off by using a contraction.   That issue is in the php code and the newer code fixes that issue.

The domain registrar change and forum upgrade are complete. 

The only other things I'm working on now are possibly moving to a new hosting company and then installing some mods back in to the site.

It appears the upgrade wiped out everyone's custom avatars.  You will need to reupload your team logo or avatar in your profile.

You can send pms. It's at the top of the site. My messages > click it > then go to inbox > click messages > new message. 

Or click the chat button under a persons name (next to the email icon).

Glad you like it.  I'm happy with how it turned out.  The newer code definitely helps the site function better on  mobile devices which is also a big plus.  We're getting with the times now.  lol

Just to let everyone know, once the MLFAD is over, I plan to re-install the portal on this new forum version.  The bridge between the new forum software and portal seems to be set now.  This will bring back the front page, side panels and chat like we had on the previous version.

I'm a little behind on doing this.  But I wanted to wait for the newest version of 2.1 to come out.  We are now upgraded to version 2.1.4.   

I will now be working on adding the portal and chat back to the forum.

I've run into some issues trying to reinstall the portal on the new forum.  The old data hooks are in the database and when the new portal is installed it makes the forum unusable. 

I will continue to research how to make it work but I wanted to tell you what was going on.  I am still hoping to make this work.
