Columbus Wild

We finally have baseball.   The season starts July 23rd (this Thursday).

After much discussion between the Commissioner team here is what we have decided to do.

Regular Season
- We will be using the semi-weekly lineup option in Fantrax.  This means you have a match up Monday - Thursday and then another one Friday - Sunday.  You can set your lineups twice a week to navigate your pitching staff or position players.
- Using semi-weekly match-ups allows us to have 15 scoring periods.
- We have reduced the number of games in current year to qualify at a position to 1 game. With the uncertainty of COVID and how that will effect IR as well as MLB teams carrying a 30 man roster.  Players will be moving around a lot so we feel it necessary to allow for flexibility this season.

Playoffs
- With the shortened season this season we will only have 4 teams make the playoffs.  We know this isn't ideal but again nothing about this year is normal.  We feel it best to allow the extra two scoring periods to get us to 15 periods but that only gives us two weeks for playoffs and we prefer the playoffs be a week long.
- The top 4 teams will make the playoffs this year (best records).  Tie breakers listed in the league rules will apply.
- The playoffs will be between September 14th and September 27th.  We will have two rounds this year both one week.

2020 FYPD
- No official start date yet but we are likely looking to start it in early September.
- We are targeting 6 rounds and will also likely include UDFA (un-drafted free agents)  in the player pool.  We will confirm the details of FYPD  in a few weeks.

Please set your lineups and be ready for the start of the first scoring period which starts this Thursday July 23rd.

Again, we understand this is not normal operating procedure but that wasn't an option this year.  This gives us a chance to try the semi-weekly lineup option.  Maybe we decide we like it because it mimics the 3 game and 4 game series more closely that MLB normally play each year.

We will regroup after the season and discuss what happened in 2020.  What we liked, didn't like, etc..in preparation for 2021 in hopes for a full season.

Here we go everyone.  Let's play ball!
